Abstract

Climate change has a significant impact on the sustainability of conservation areas in Indonesia, including shifts in rainfall patterns, temperature changes, habitat degradation, and increased disaster risks. This article presents findings from a literature review and recent case studies on strategies and management methods for enhancing the adaptive capacity of conservation areas to climate change through technological approaches and community participation. The results show that the integration of technology (satellite-based monitoring, drones, sensors, and GIS) and community participation (co-management, incentives, and the integration of local knowledge) can strengthen the adaptive capacity of conservation areas. Policy support and long-term funding are key factors determining success.
