Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Managers and Publishers

  • Determine the journal's name, scientific scope, publication schedule, and apply for accreditation if necessary.
  • Establish the editorial board membership.

  • Respect the confidentiality of information related to authors, editors, and peer reviewers.
  • Enforce norms and regulations related to intellectual property rights, particularly copyright.
  • Evaluate journal policies and communicate them to authors, the editorial board, peer reviewers, and readers.
  • Develop ethical guidelines for editors and peer reviewers.
  • Publish the journal regularly.
  • Ensure the availability of funding sources for the journal's sustainability.
  • Build cooperative networks with research institutions and related organizations.
  • Provide legal permissions and other legal aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

  • Meet the needs of readers and authors while continuously improving the quality of publications.
  • Conduct a selection process to ensure the quality of published articles.
  • Encourage objective freedom of expression.
  • Maintain the integrity of authors’ academic records.
  • Provide corrections, clarifications, and apologies when necessary.
  • Ensure that scientific writing style and format are followed, while the content and statements in the article remain the responsibility of the author.
  • Gather feedback from authors, readers, peer reviewers, and editorial board members to enhance publication quality.
  • Conduct regular internal evaluations of the journal’s quality.
  • Support authors in adhering to publication ethics by requiring ethical statement forms in every manuscript submission.
  • Be open to new perspectives and insights that enrich scientific understanding, even if they differ from personal views.
  • Avoid subjective decisions and biases towards personal opinions, authors, or third parties by seeking scientifically accountable solutions.
  • Encourage authors to revise their manuscripts until they are ready for publication.

Duties and Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers

  • Review manuscripts and submit the evaluation results to the editor for publication eligibility assessment.
  • Refrain from reviewing manuscripts in which they have direct or indirect involvement.
  • Provide constructive feedback, suggestions, and recommendations for scientific manuscripts.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of authors by not disclosing review results, suggestions, or recommendations related to the manuscript.
  • Encourage authors to improve their manuscripts based on the provided feedback.
  • Reevaluate revised manuscripts according to established standards.
  • Complete the review within the specified timeframe following scientific guidelines, including data collection methods, author credibility, and research conclusions.

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

  • Ensure that all individuals listed as authors meet the authorship criteria.
  • Be collectively responsible for the content of the article, including methods, analysis, calculations, and research details.
  • Disclose sources of funding and other support that contributed to the research.
  • Clearly state the limitations of the research conducted.
  • Respond to comments from peer reviewers and the editorial board professionally and promptly.
  • Notify the editor in writing if they wish to withdraw a submitted manuscript.
  • Declare that the submitted article is original, has not been published in any journal or media in any language, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
